Born in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba on October 9, 1986, Josiel Perez comes from an extensive musical family, beginning with his grandfather who is a refined flautist to his uncle, Andres Perez, who is considered one of Cuba’s best baritone saxophonists.
The son montuno is the most important genre of Cuban popular music. If you ever visited Old Havana, Cuba, you will find energetic and vibrant groups playing son montuno. “A Night in Old Havana” at The Nash will be a perfect combination of son montuno and Latin Jazz.
Josiel Perez - trumpet, Yunier Moya Toca - guitar / vocals, Ariel Cacheiro Lopez - tres, Luis Gustavo Grandales - percussion.
