For a lucky 60 guests this intimate party produced by The Nash Jazz Club featured a performance of jazz standards by the Ken Peplowski Quartet. It couldn’t get any more “up close and personal” than this event was to listen to and mingle with some of the most talented jazz musicians to grace the Valley of the Sun. All this complimented by a panoramic birds-eye view of Phoenix, hosted wine and hors d’ouevres.
Ken Peplowski has recorded over 70 CDs as a soloist, and close to 400 as a sideman. Some of the artists he’s performed/ recorded with include Charlie Byrd, Mel Torme, Rosemary Clooney, Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops, Hank Jones, Peggy Lee, Bill Charlap, Woody Allen, Benny Goodman, and Madonna.
Stylistically, international critics consider Rossano Sportielo a follower of Ralph Sutton, Dave McKenna and Barry Harris, the influence of other great masters can be heard in his playing, such as Fats Waller, Teddy Wilson, Art Tatum, Count Basie, Earl Hines, Ellis Larkins and Bill Evans, to name a few.
