Legendary Los Angeles based jazz vocalist Dwight Trible @dwighttrible has been a passionate and charismatic musical force in LA and around the world for many years. Boasting an impressive vocal range and improvisational skills, he is a dynamic performer who likes to use his music to bring people together “to bridge the gap between the races, and to heal the human heart” and as such has received numerous awards for his humanitarian efforts. Trible has toured the world many times performing in London, Amsterdam, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Osaka, Austria, and many other locations. Trible was joined by the John Rangel Trio with John Rangel - piano, Cyrus Campbell @cyruscampbell - bass and Malachi Roberts @malachi_roberts_drums - drums.

Pianist and ASU Director of Jazz Studies Michael Kocour and his hard-swinging quintet put the crowd at The Nash Jazz Club you in the groove with two wonderful sets of jazz classics! Kocour is an Associate Professor and the Director of Jazz Studies at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. Hailed by the Chicago Tribune as “one of the most sophisticated pianists in jazz, “Kocour has performed at venues around the world and has been a guest on Marian McPartland’s internationally syndicated NPR program “Piano Jazz.”

The original Charles Lewis Quintet dates back to 1974 when it entertained patrons of valley clubs and engaged elementary school students in interactive performances in Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa and other towns throughout Arizona. As the first jazz-category inductee of the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame few names in the Arizona jazz community command more respect than Charles Lewis. Due to the group’s unusual availability of all of its members this summer The Nash Jazz Club patron were able to enjoy their heartfelt swinging reunion.

Singer/songwriter Kim Weston joined The Sax Man Jermaine Lockhart for an electric night of Jazz & R & B. Kim Weston is a Phoenix based vocalist, songwriter, bandleader, and violinist. She has released nine originals including ”Summer”, “Chardonnay”, “Someone Told Me”, “The Minor”, “Love is All We Ask”, “Long As You Can”, and “Unafraid”. The group performed jazz interpretations of hits from such icons as The Fugees, Babyface and Stevie Wonder as well as originals from Lockhart’s top selling album “Back to the Sunshine” and Weston’s “Love is All We Ask”.

On the evening: Jermaine Lockhart - saxophone, Raul Yanez – keys, Roger Dryer - bass, Dowell Davis - drums and Kim Weston - vocals.

The Sax Man Jermaine Lockhart was joined by singer/songwriter Kim Weston for an electric night of Jazz & R & B. The tenor saxophonist resides in Phoenix, Arizona, born in Cleveland, Ohio where he grew up in the Pentecostal Church playing his saxophone. Since then, he’s added jazz, straight-ahead grooves, and rhythm and blues genres to his repertoire. The group performed jazz interpretations of hits from such icons as The Fugees, Babyface and Stevie Wonder as well as originals from Lockhart’s top selling album “Back to the Sunshine” and Weston’s “Love is All We Ask”.
